Supplies Needed

T-Shirt Pattern: Any basic pattern will work. If you are a more experienced sewer, you can consider patterns with different design features, Otherwise, stick with the basic for this class.?

Pattern Recommendation: Butterick 6848. This pattern features two different necklines and sleeve lengths including sleeveless. It can be shorten or lengthen to preference. The pattern includes instructions to address different fitting issues.

Fabric: read pattern recommendations closely. Most T-Shirt patterns are designed for light to medium weight knits. However, if your preference is for a cotton, rayon or other lightweight fabric, we can adjust the pattern to accommodate the lack of stretch.

Thread to match. You will need 4 spools for construction with Serger

Serger, Cord, Power foot (don’t forget your machine manual)

Basic Sewing supplies, including extra needles, scissors, seam ripper, tweezers

Skills you will learn:

1. Basic pattern alterations for fit

2. Cutting pattern on knit fabric

3. Seam Construction using serger

4. Applying neck and arm facings

5. Finishing techniques
